Audio Quality

Starting with audio quality. The XTN Series offers better audio quality than what we had in the Spirit M-Series^{TM, thanks to a newly designed chip and optimized acoustic cabinet that provides clearer audio at higher volumes.}

Next, we made them rugged. The XTN Series is not just weatherproof, shockproof, and drop-proof, but designed to meet MilSpec810, and IP54 standards. These radios are built to take the harshest work conditions your job can dish out.

Battery Life

Then we ramped up the battery life. The XTN NIMH rechargeable battery lasts up to 15 hours, so it can handle extended shifts without recharging. The XTN Series can also accommodate AA batteries.

Expected battery life for the XU2100:

• 2W AA lasts 22 hours

Range

The XTN Series also lets you have your space. Our engineers improved the selectivity, sensitivity and voice compression in the receiver, which gives you enhanced range capability. That means 2–Watt models talk up to 250,000 square feet or up to 20 floors in a multi-level building.

Frequencies

Of course, talk range won't do you any good if you have continual channel chatter. That's why the XTN Series has added 56 additional business-exclusive UHF frequencies along with 121 private line codes, including 83 digital private line codes (DPL). So not only are you more likely to find a clear channel with no interference, you also get a high degree of compatibility with your existing fleets of radios.

Cloning

Speaking of fleets, the XTN Series two-way radios are designed for split-second cloning using the multiunit charger. This allows you to quickly add radios to an existing fleet, or pick up and move the whole fleet to a new location and set it up in a hurry with all the appropriate channel and code settings.

Hands-free Operation

For those jobs that take two hands, the XTN Series can be used hands-free.

1–channel models need the right audio accessory.

Manager Lockout

The radios can also be set on tamper-proof manager lockout to keep everyone on the same channel and code. With the 2–Watt models, the scrambling feature lets you encode conversations you don't need the entire work force to hear.

Call Tones

In high ambient noise areas, you can use call tones to grab the attention of the people you need to reach.
