CITC Polar Controller Refrigerated Fogger

CITC

Polar Controller

Low-Ground Fogger

  • Refrigerated Fog

  • (no CO2 or Dry Ice)

Turn it on and take a nap. The Polar Controller eliminates the need for CO2, dry ice, or seperate fog machines. This refrigerated system can create an incredible 7000 cfm (198 cu.m per minute) of thick, white, dry, low-ground fog after a short 11 minute warm-up. Just add Cold Tubes and fluid. Cold tubes are now included with the Polar Controller, resulting in a lower, colder fog. With DMX 1 channel fog control on board, it's a breeze to operate. No CO2 needed.

This unit now includes two 25' remote controls: One for the fogger that tells when the power is on with the red LED light, and also when it’s warm and ready with the green LED light as well as volume control and cycle-timer. The second remote controls the refrigeration system with the fogging fan that expands the fog as well as dries the fog while the refrigeration is cooling the fog. This allows the user to stop the machine quickly and not "push" the fog away, being able to stop the fog fan as well.

Now the 5 gallon (19 liter) cubitainer of CITC’s Natural Low-Ground Fog sits close to the feed-tube next to the fogging unit with quick change-out.

CITC’s proprietary 5" heavy coated cold tubes keep the fog cold and dries the fog dryer before releasing it to the dance floor. Includes 45 degree elbows for smooth transition to the area you need. Easy to redirect or split the output in two areas.

creative ability to use CITC’s Low-Ground fog to add dimension to a live stage. Note the fog falling into the grave gives the dimension of falling into phantom depths. Adding color to fog drastically increases it’s dimension and makes the floor glow. This was a Christmas play of Scrooge!

Always use CITC's Natural Low-Ground Fog Fluid for best results and warranty requirements. Reduces corrosion and clogging of fogger. Higher than food grade quality. Safe to lay in.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Check for proper electrical connection of two separate lines @ 110vac, 15a each.

2. Connect the bottle of CITC's Low-ground Fogging Fluid with the tube to the input, being sure to push the tube all the way into the connector. Place the filter inside the bottom of the bottle.

3. When turning on the fogger power switch on the backside, check to see the switch lights up. Wait approximately 7-8 minutes for the unit to be ready to come on.

4. Then, turn on the main compressor unit with the second rocker switch. It should also illuminate. You are ready to press the button on the fog side of the machine for producing low-ground fog. If at first the pump makes a loud noise, watch to see if the fluid is being drawn through the tube. If is not, check the connection to be sure it is tight. Push it all the way in. Try again. Do not let the pump run dry for very long as this would cause it to burn up.

HOW TO USE THE DMX ON BOARD FOR THE POLAR CONTROLLER

Each DMXed unit will occupy a unique DMX address on the DMX chain. By adjusting the dip switches on the side of the machine near the DMX cable plug-ins, the user may assign an (one) address to the machine, giving you on/off, volume control with one DMX channel (there is no timer on this DMX). For DMX control on the cooling portion of the Polar Controller, you would need a Universal DMX box. Assigning this box to the same address will give you two (2) channels of DMX (it adds on digit).

Step 1). Attach the DMX cable to the upper "in" female connector located on the side of the machine and set the DMX address by moving the "on" switch to the right (toward the "on" arrow).
Step 2). The DMX address is configured by adding the dip switch numbers together to total the number required. For example, Dip Switch 1 + 6 = 33. Your DMX channel would be 33. Dip Switch 3 + 8 = 132.

Dip Switch 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Channel No 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256

For example: dip switch 1 on = channel 1 selected, dip switch 2 on = channel 2 selected, switch 3 on = channel 4 selected, dip switch 4 on = channel 8 selected, dip switch 2 and 3 on = channel 6 selected, dip switch 2, 3 and 4 on = channel 14 selected, dip switch 3, 4, 5, and 6 on = channel 60 selected

CITC's Polar Controller machines now use 1 channel to control Volume output operation and 1 channel to turn on (on/off) the cooling portion of the low-ground fogger. Each channel has a value range of 0 to 255.

When you move the slide control or digital control;
0 -- 5 = Off
6 - 249 = Volume Control
250 - 255 = Maximum Blast Output
Channel next in line will turn on the cooling unit:
0 - 49 = Off
50 - 255 = On

If Channel A has a value from 0 to 5, the unit is OFF.

Between the values 6 to 249 the volume of fog output is regulated, with 6 being the minimum volume of fog produced and 249 approaching the maximum. The volume output rises as the DMX value is increased.

If Channel A has a value from 250 to 255, the machine will operate at maximum output or the "Blast" output.

Note: In the example above, if the machine were assigned the DMX address of 124, Channel A would correspond to DMX address 124.

"Input" and "Output" designations on the DMX plugs are arbitrary (i.e., you can use the input plug for output and visa-versa). It is not necessary to attempt converting your DMX line's connector to female/male to match the appropriate socket on the plug. As long as it is looped in/out, it will work.

Once your setting has been adjusted, you may turn it on at this level each time you activate the channel.
5. For DMX 512 useage on the Fogging mechanism, connect the DMX 512 cable to the panel 5 pin connectors and set the address using the dip switches near the plug-in. While on DMX control board, you will be able to adjust the fog levels up and down. When depressing the manual fog button located on the machine, it is operating at its highest level only and will override the DMX control for testing.

6. When finished with machine, clean the tube and pump with 5% vinegar/distilled water mix and then rinse w/distilled water only. You will need to have the cooling portion turned on for the aeration of the fluid to leave the unit. This will keep the pump and piston from becoming stuck and not working. Do not store in freezing conditions. Do not run the pump without fluid passing through the tube. This will cause the pump to become hot and could damage the piston. This is not covered under warranty.
