The Strong Xenon Super Trouper (Short Throw) is a high-intensity follow spotlight suitable for trouping or fixed installation. This compact unit offers Super Trouper quality of light in a smaller package. The Short Throw model is efficient, yet matches the intensity of the Super Trouper at throws of 100' (30m) or less. SPECIFICATION for Xenon Super Trouper Followspot, Short Throw

 

 

 

A.      General

 

            1.   The instrument shall be a Xenon Super Trouper Short Throw follow followspot, as manufactured by Strong Entertainment Lighting, a division of Ballantyne of Omaha, Inc. or approved equal.

 

B.      Physical

 

            1.   The unit frame and enclosure shall be constructed of formed cold rolled steel and sturdy aluminum castings, free of burrs and protected by a gray and black powder coat finish.

 

            2.   The following shall be provided:

 

                 a.    Stable, folding four-point floor stand, height adjustable, with casters and leveling feet

 

                 b.    Separate, easily exchanged xenon power supply with quick-disconnect MS

                        receptacle

 

                 c.    Uninterrupted operation cycle

 

                 d.    DC ammeter on lamphouse

 

                 e.    Lamp operation elapsed hour meter on lamphouse

 

                 f.     Lamphouse is forced-air cooled by internally wired blower

 

                 g.    Remote ON/OFF ignition control

 

                 h.    Xenon lamp shock mount (allows unit to be moved with lamp in place)

 

                 i.     Manual dimming control

 

                 j.     Horizontal masking control

 

                 k.    Nichrome steel iris

 

                 l.     Spot edge focus adjusting knob

 

                 m.               Six color, self-canceling boomerang with color filters

 

                 n     Ultraviolet filter available as option

C.      Optical

 

            1.   The unit shall combine a 1600 watt or 2000 watt compact Xenon short-arc lamp with a precision deep ellipse electroformed nickel reflector and variable focus lens system which increases light intensity as spot diameter is decreased.

 

            2.   The unit shall provide:

 

                 a.    Electroformed, ten-inch diameter nickel reflector with dichroic coating

 

                 b.    Color temperature 5600° Kelvin (±200° K.)

 

                 c.    Reflector coatings can be matched for exact color temperature as option

 

                 d.    Reflector shall reflect 95% of visible light and absorb 90% of infrared light as heat

 

                 e.    Optical-quality glass used in all lenses

 

D.      Electrical

 

            1.   Xenon bulb system; input 200-240 V.AC, 50/60 Hertz, single or three phase, 20 ampere sustaining and fused for 30 amperes

 

2.     Solid-state switching type Xenon power supply (Strong model number 6200002); separate from followspot unit and easily interchanged

 

3.       Xenon lamp (furnished separately) shall be LTIX-1600W-H or LTIX-2000W-H manufactured by Lighting Technologies International or approved equal

 

E.      Performance

 

            1.   Light readings at flattest coverage (approximately 70%) with new 2000W lamp:

 

                 a.    Flood diameter at 40 foot throw is 16.4 feet at 243 FC (footcandles) minimum

 

                 b.    Minimum spot diameter (with Iris closed) at 40 foot throw is 11 inches at 2,396 FC minimum

 

                 c.    Flood diameter at 100 foot throw is 41 feet at 39 FC minimum

 

           d.    Minimum spot diameter (with Iris closed) at 100 foot throw is 27.5 inches at 383 FC minimum

            1.   Light readings at flattest coverage (approximately 70%) with new 1600W lamp:

 

                 a.    Flood diameter at 40 foot throw is 16.4 feet at 203 FC (footcandles) minimum
