The FiberSource QFX150 is a versatile source for any fiber installation. This DMX controllable fixture features a color wheel with 9 interchangeable colors and smooth, full range mechanical dimmer. A full range of up to 40 different colors is available for extra flexibility.

Other features include a shutter and variable strobe on the dimmer wheel. Furthermore a twinkle wheel creates sparkling effects for star ceiling and star curtain installations.

The FiberSource QFX150 has an extended control in stand alone mode. Via the dipswitches, virtually any combination of colors, color speed and twinkle speed is programmable. No external controller is required.

The Martin FiberSource QFX150 is an automated luminaire for illuminating fiber optic cables. It uses a long-life 150 watt discharge lamp and provides positions for 9 color filters (4 included as standard) plus white, full-range dimming, and a variable-speed twinkle effect. It operates with DMX-512 controllers, in stand-alone mode, and in master/slave configuration.

General
The luminaire shall be an automated fiber optic illuminator with a 150 watt discharge lamp.

Mechanical effects
The luminaire shall provide one wheel with nine positions for the insertion of dichroic glass color filters and an open position. The wheel shall hold deep blue, blueish green, medium yellow, and deep red color filters (plus up to five optional colors). The wheel shall rotate continuously and allow for the selection of intermediate positions.
The luminaire shall provide a second wheel that is perforated to intermittently block light output and create a "twinkle" effect. The wheel shall have a removable section that allows for full light output. The wheel rotation speed shall be variable.

Control
The luminaire shall respond to command signals conforming to the USITT DMX512 (1990) standard. It shall have two 3-pole XLR connectors for serial data transfer.
The luminaire shall provide a stand-alone operation mode with options for selecting color positions and effect speeds without an external controller.

Housing
The luminaire shall be constructed of sheet steel and aluminum. The exterior finish shall be an electrostatically applied powder coating. The color shall be black.

Installation
The luminaire shall be installed with the base horizontal. A clearance of no less than 10 centimeters (4 in.) shall be provided at the front and back of the luminaire for ventilation.

Electrical
The luminaire shall operate on 50 and 60 Hz AC power supplies at 100, 120, 210, 230, and 250 volts, plus/minus five percent. It shall be fitted with a three-prong male IEC socket for connection to AC power. The luminaire shall be electrically grounded.
The luminaire shall conform to CE safety standards EN 60598-1 and EN 60598-2-17, and to CE electromagnetic compatibility standards EN 50 081-1 and EN 50 082-1. The luminaire shall conform to CSA standard C22.2 No. 166 and ANSI/UL standard 1573 (Certification pending).
