Exterior 600 Compact

230V,50Hz; Natural color; ;  MSD575 lamp included; 30/41 degree field angle

The Exterior 600 Compact is a more discrete version of the Exterior 600. While reduced in size, it maintains full color mixing in an IP 65 rated housing.

Reliability, durability and independence

The Exterior 600 Compact is equipped with all the basic features that architects demand from an intelligent exterior luminaire, including CMY color mixing. This compact luminaire also offers the ability to turn the lamp on/off remotely and provides an independent stand-alone option with time sensor and real time clock. Three different beam angles of 31°, 44° and 65° are available for extra flexibility.

This lightweight luminaire features a super solid weatherproof housing and a unique convection cooling system to ensure an all-important product toughness and reliability. The IP 65 weatherproof rating means that the Exterior 600 Compact remains functional even under the most severe weather conditions. The luminaire houses a powerful long-life MSD-575 watt lamp for unmatched light output and is industry standard DMX controllable.

Coupled with a host of automatic features including hour, day and date settings as well as a built-in light sensor which triggers operation after sundown, the 600 Compact provides years of independent uninterrupted life.

Multiple fixtures may be linked together and synchronized for truly spectacular effects using Martin's PC-based ProScenium controller. And the ProScenium's clock and calendar functions can simply be set and then forgot - nothing to check up on.

Furthermore, the MC-X remote controller can be used to call up as many as 7 pre-sets stored directly in the Exterior.

Sample project specification

General
The luminaire shall be the Martin Exterior 600 Compact. The luminaire shall be an automated color-changing washlight designed for fixed exterior installation. It shall employ a 575 watt discharge lamp as the light source.

Mechanical effects
The luminaire shall provide subtractive CMY color mixing. All filters shall be dichroic glass. The position of all wheels shall be monitored by a position feedback system capable of automatically returning the effects to programmed values.<

Control
The luminaire shall respond to the USITT DMX512 protocol using a maximum of 5 DMX control channels. The color mixing speed shall be determined, at the operator´s option, by tracking differences in position values or by setting a speed value directly. The luminaire shall store seven user-programmable combinations of the mechanical effects for recall via a remote control unit. The luminaire shall be capable of unattended stand-alone operation in which it executes definable color changes at programmable intervals and speeds. It shall provide a built-in 24-hour real-time clock and an ambient light-level sensor for programmable operation start and stop. All user-selected software settings shall be adjustable via remote control. The luminaire shall have a 1.8-meter cable with locking 3-pole XLR connectors for serial data transfer.

Performance
The luminaire shall be capable of emitting a total luminous flux of 18,300 lumens. It shall have two focus positions to provide a 30° or 41° beam angle, at the user´s option, where the outside edge of the beam is defined as the circle having one-tenth the intensity of the beam´s midpoint. An optional glass diffuser that provides a 63° beam angle shall be available for the luminaire.

Housing
The luminaire shall have an extruded anodized aluminum housing with a 6 mm plate of anti-reflection coated glass. The housing shall be convection cooled, with the power supply and electronics section heat-separated from the lamp and mechanics section. It shall be weather resistant, protection class IP 65.

Installation
The luminaire shall operate in any orientation. It shall be supplied with a non-detachable base that allows the luminaire manually to be tilted +/- 40 in the vertical plane and swiveled +/- 25° in the horizontal plane. The base plate shall be of 6 mm stainless steel, and have slots for 10 mm (3/8") mounting hardware.

Electrical
The luminaire shall operate on 50 Hz supplies at 200, 230, and 245 volts; and on 60 Hz supplies at 208 and 227 volts, +/- five percent. It shall have a 3 meter (9.8 ft.) length of electrical cable for connection to AC power. The luminaire shall be electrically grounded. The luminaire shall be cETL certified for compliance with CSA standard C22.2 No. 166 and ETL certified for compliance with ANSI/UL standard 1573. (Certification pending.) It shall conform with EU safety standards EN 60598-1 and EN 60598-2-17, and with EU electromagnetic compatibility standards 50 081-1 and 50 082-1.

Environmental
The luminaire shall operate in ventilated areas at temperatures not to exceed 40° C (104° F).
